22 August 2011: On 22 August, the Andean Community's (CAN) chief decision-making body, the Council of Foreign Ministers, adopted a legally-binding Decision approving the execution of the German technical cooperation agency's (GIZ) project with CAN on adaptation of the agricultural sector in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru to climate change.
8 August 2011: The Pacific Island Forum Secretariat (PIFS) has announced that Pacific fisheries and trade Ministers are meeting this week in an effort to advance consideration of fisheries-related issues arising from the Pacific African, Caribbean and Pacific (PACP) – European Union (EU) Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).
3 August 2011: The Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) has announced the launch of SIDS DOCK, an international organization intended to catalyze sustainable energy projects in small island developing States (SIDS).
29 July 2011: The sixth general meeting between the UN System and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and its Associated Institutions identified regional priorities across seven broad thematic areas for collaboration, including climate change, sustainable development and disaster management, and energy.
July 2011: The ninth issue of "Biosafety Protocol News," a magazine published by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), focuses on national administrative systems for biosafety. Contributions to the issue outline experiences and lessons learned from Africa, Asia, the EU, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
19 July 2011: The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) has published the 12th issue of its Climate Change News Update, which reports on recent developments in European and Australian law related to climate change mitigation.
13 July 2011: The Secretariat of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) launched a pilot exercise on tracking impact indicators at the national level. The "inception workshop" for the exercise concluded with an action plan for pilot countries to apply impact indicators on Desertification, Land Degradation and Drought (DLDD), at the national level.
May 2011: The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has published the second phase of “The Evaluation of the Paris Declaration,” which was prepared by an independent reference group to evaluate progress on improving development cooperation and aid effectiveness in the run-up to the Busan High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in November 2011.
4 July 2011: The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) and the EU have entered into an agreement to, among other things, support Caribbean Forum (CARIFORUM) countries in meeting the challenges of climate change.
