22 November 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a technical paper (FCCC/TP/2011/5) on water and climate change impacts and adaptation strategies. The 34th session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technical Advice (SBSTA 34) requested that the Secretariat prepare a technical paper on water and climate change impacts and adaptation strategies under the Nairobi work programme (NWP) before SBSTA 35.
22 November 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published submissions (FCCC/AWGLCA/2011/MISC.9/ Add.1) from parties under ideas and proposals on the elements contained in paragraph 1 of the Bali Action Plan (decision 1/CP.13).
22 November 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published and addendum (FCCC/AWGLCA/2011/MISC.6/Add.5) consisting of 12 further submissions from parties on views on the items relating to a work programme for development of modalities and guidelines listed in decision 1/CP. 16 paragraph 46 (nationally appropriate mitigation commitments or actions by developed country parties).
18 November 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has launched a new online portal to enable governments, institutions and interested persons to access information on fast-start finance for responding to climate change. The portal aims to make more visible and transparent the financial support provided by developed countries to developing countries to help them reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adapt to climate change.
16 November 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published an addendum (FCCC/SBSTA/2011/MISC.6/Add.1) comprising a submission from Ecuador on proposals for upcoming activities under the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change.
3 November 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the progress report (FCCC/SBI/2011/10) of the work of the Consultative Group of Experts on National Communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (CGE). The report contains the proceedings of the fifth meeting of the reconstituted CGE relating to progress in the implementation of its mandate and discussions on the organization of its work programme for 2011–2012.
October 2011: The Secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) recently held a workshop to identify challenges and gaps in the implementation of risk management approaches to the adverse effects of climate change. The workshop included presentations on regional and national experiences on approaches to, and tools for, risk management, such as the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility.
27 October 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a document containing a synthesis of parties' views on the implications of the inclusion of reforestation of lands with forest in exhaustion as afforestation and reforestation (A/R) Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project activities (FCCC/SBSTA/2011/INF.15).
24 October 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has launched a new simplified logo as well as a re-designed website that is oriented to negotiations, the sessions of the intergovernmental process and documents.
19 October 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published views (FCCC/SBSTA/2011/MISC.7) on methodological guidance for activities relating to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks in developing countries (REDD+).
