UNFCCC22 November 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a technical paper (FCCC/TP/2011/5) on water and climate change impacts and adaptation strategies. The 34th session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technical Advice (SBSTA 34) requested that the Secretariat prepare a technical paper on water and climate change impacts and adaptation strategies under the Nairobi work programme (NWP) before SBSTA 35.

UNFCCC Launches Fast-Start Finance Online Portal [viewed]

UNFCCC18 November 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has launched a new online portal to enable governments, institutions and interested persons to access information on fast-start finance for responding to climate change. The portal aims to make more visible and transparent the financial support provided by developed countries to developing countries to help them reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adapt to climate change.

UNFCCC Publishes Consultative Group of Experts Reports [viewed]

3 November 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the progress report (FCCC/SBI/2011/10) of the work of the Consultative Group of Experts on National Communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (CGE). The report contains the proceedings of the fifth meeting of the reconstituted CGE relating to progress in the implementation of its mandate and discussions on the organization of its work programme for 2011–2012.

Caribbean Risk Management Tools Featured at UNFCCC Workshop [viewed]

October 2011: The Secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) recently held a workshop to identify challenges and gaps in the implementation of risk management approaches to the adverse effects of climate change. The workshop included presentations on regional and national experiences on approaches to, and tools for, risk management, such as the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility.
