UNFCCC Releases Submissions on Framework for Various Approaches [viewed]
11 April 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the submissions from 12 Parties (FCCC/AWGLCA/2012/MISC.4), two intergovernmental organizations, and 19 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) (FCCC/AWGLCA/2012/MISC.5), containing their views on a framework for various approaches, including opportunities for using markets, to enhance the cost-effectiveness of, and to promote, mitigation actions, bearing in mind different circumstances of developed and developing countries.
19 March 2012: The 27th meeting of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO) Latin American and Caribbean Forestry Commission (LACFC) has developed recommendations to FAO about forest genetic resources, climate change, sustainable forest management (SFM) and priorities for the draft work programme of FAO's Committee on Forestry (COFO). 
15 March 2012: Argentina held a national committee meeting and workshop in the context of the Mountain Partnership's "Strengthening participatory governance for sustainable development of the Andes" project. Participants examined a national mountain assessment report, and outlined an action plan and set of goals for strengthening participatory management in the Argentine Andes over the next 18 months.
30 March 2012: The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), a specialized agency of the Organization of American States (OAS), has signed a letter of understanding with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to consolidate their joint efforts in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). 
28 March 2012: The Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) has launched a new research programme aimed at achieving sustainable improvements in agricultural production while maintaining or boosting the health of natural ecosystems, in the face of growing demand for natural resources.
28 March 2012: The UN-REDD Programme Policy Board, at its eighth meeting, approved US$8 million to support the National Programmes of the Republic of Congo and Sri Lanka for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, as well as conservation, sustainable management of forests, and enhancement of carbon stocks (REDD+).
