Event: High-Level Leadership Meeting on Addressing Inequalities [viewed]

As part of the Post-2015 Development Agenda Global Thematic Consultations, this High-Level Leadership Meeting will review the final report and findings of the Global Consultation on Inequalities with the aim of developing a statement and recommendations. The first day of the Meeting will be a Public Dialogue and will address: why inequalities matter and the impacts of inequalities on both societies and individuals; the different dimensions of inequality, synergies between them and the common factors that drive and sustain them; and effective ways forward to address inequalities, and the factors that drive them, as part of a new development agenda, as well as how to assess and measure progress on reducing inequalities. The event will be live-streamed via the consultation's website on 18 February 2013, from 9 am-3 pm Central European Time (CEE). The event will be interactive, and online participants are invited to submit questions to the panel in advance using the Twitter hashtag #inequalities2015. Questions may also be submitted by email to inequalities@worldwewant2015.org, before the deadline of Friday, 15 February 2013. Organizers highly encourage participants to submit questions early. The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and UN Women co-lead the global thematic consultation on inequalities, with support from the Governments of Denmark and Ghana. Inequalities is one of 11 themes being addressed on a global level by the UN Development Group's (UNDG) consultations on the post-2015 development agenda.

SICA, BCIE Convene First Regional Conference on Women's Economic Rights [viewed]

28 June 2012: The Central American Integration System's (SICA) Council of Women's Affairs Ministers (COMMCA) and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) convened the first Regional Conference on the Economic Rights of Women, with a focus on entrepreneurship, public policies and access to capital in the SICA member countries of Belize, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.

CAF, UN Women Agree to Joint Efforts Against Female Poverty [viewed]
