Rio+20 Adopts "The Future We Want" Outcome Document, Voluntary Pledges Reported to Reach US$513 Billion [viewed]

22 June 2012: The third and final meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20), Pre-Conference Informal Consultations Facilitated by the Host Country, and the UNCSD convened back-to-back in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 13-22 June 2012. During their ten days in Rio, government delegations concluded negotiations on the Rio outcome document, titled “The Future We Want.”

Rio Conventions Pavilion Convenes for City Day [viewed]

22 June 2012: The Rio Conventions Pavilion at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) convened for City Day, on 22 June 2012. The event included three panel events on: local leadership driving global change; cities spurring change - tools and techniques for integrated urban planning; and a sustainable future for our children - the FRUSATO movement. GEF Book Outlines 20 Years of "Greening" the World's Economies [viewed]

GEF20 June 2012: The Global Environment Facility (GEF) has launched a publication titled “From Rio to Rio: A 20-year Journey to Green the World's Economies,” which consists of an analysis of 20 select projects that illustrate the key lessons emerging from the 20 years of work by the GEF. The publication was launched at a side event held during the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).
