UNGA Debate Continues Focus on MDGs, Post-2015 Agenda [viewed]
26 September 2012: On the second day of the 67th UN General Assembly (UNGA) High-level Debate, speakers recognized the need for accelerated progress on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) while supporting the development of a post-2015 development framework to address emerging challenges and the economic, environmental and social dimensions of sustainable development, in line with the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) agreements. Several speakers expressed support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
26 September 2012: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) hosted a high-level event on the sidelines of the 67th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 67) to discuss global progress on achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and action needed to complete the goals in their remaining three years.
25 September 2012: The 67th UN General Assembly (UNGA) High-level Debate opened with speakers recognizing linkages between peace and security and sustainable development. They highlighted the importance of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and noted the role of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) in mobilizing action for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and forming a post-2015 development agenda.
24 September 2012: A high-level luncheon on Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) spotlighted updates and announcements on the three goals of the initiative related to access, renewable energy and energy efficiency. Members of the SE4ALL High-Group, its technical group, and other partners outlined actions and new commitments made after the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20), and plans for the future. The luncheon was followed by a high-level panel event on SE4ALL.
17 September 2012: The UN's social media team has compiled videos featuring the work of each winner of the first Forest Heroes Award, issued by the Secretariat of the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF). Awards were issued to one winner in each region, in addition to a special award for Jose Claudio Ribeiro and Maria do Espirito Santo of Brazil, who were murdered after working to halt illegal logging in the Amazon.
3 September 2012: The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) has announced the list of members as of 1 September 2012. 
25 August 2012: The first Board meeting of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) considered the work plan of the Board, and initiated the work towards the operationalization of the Fund. Key outcomes of the meeting include the election of the Board's Co-Chairs and adoption of a decision on how to conduct the process to select the host country of the Fund.
