Mexican Companies Join UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism [viewed]

29 October 2012: The UN World Tourism Organization (WTO) has announced that 14 of Mexico's major tourism companies and associations have signed on to the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism. The signing took place during the 94th Session of the UNWTO Executive Council, which convened from 24-25 October 2012, in Campeche, Mexico.

CEC Presents Guidelines for Designing Climate-Resilient MPAs [viewed]

23 October 2012: The North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) has presented a set of scientific guidelines for designing marine protected areas (MPAs) that are resilient to climate change. The Guidelines were developed by the CEC in collaboration with the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea's (ICES) Study Group on Designing Marine Protected Area Networks in a Changing Climate (SGMPAN).

CAF, KfW Agree to Finance Latin American Water and Sanitation Projects [viewed]

12 October 2012: The Latin American Development Bank (CAF) and the German Development Bank (KfW) signed an agreement for a US$100 million KfW credit line for CAF-financed projects in Latin America's water and sanitation sector. The agreement was signed on 12 October 2012, in Tokyo, Japan, by CAF CEO Enrique Garcia and KfW CEO Stephan Opitz.

October 2012: The Indigenous Peoples' and Community Conserved Areas and Territories (ICCAs) Forum published its September 2012 newsletter, focusing on ongoing work and events hosted by ICCA. It includes articles on: the First National Conference on ICCAs in the Philippines; ICCA activities on sustainable management of natural resources in Madagascar; and a workshop in Panama on connecting indigenous and scientific knowledge systems.

ACP-MEAs Newsletter Focuses on Participation in the CDM and Carbon Finance [viewed]

September 2012: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the European Commission have released the latest issue of the newsletter on the Multilateral Environment Agreements in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries (ACP MEAs) Project.
