Consultation on Gender Equality in LAC: Progress and Challenges

The consultation on gender equality in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) aims to initiate an exchange of views on how the post-2015 development agenda “must include gender equality as a priority,” and to respond to the issues of discrimination and violence against women, in particular. This portion of the consultation will focus on progress and challenges for achieving gender equality in the region. It precedes other discussion blocks within the consultation, on: the structural roots of inequality, discrimination and violence; capacities to make choices; participation, impact and power; and priorities and strategies to influence the agenda.
