CAF Invests in Clean Energy Fund for Latin America

4 November 2011: The Latin American Development Bank (CAF) has announced that it will make a US$10 million equity investment in the Latin America CleanTech Fund II. The Fund is a private equity fund that invests in renewable energy and clean technology projects in Latin America and the Caribbean, primary focusing on Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.

CAF President Enrique Garcia said the investment reflects the catalytic role CAF can play and the interests of CAF's Latin American Program on Carbon, Clean and Alternative Energy (PLAC+e). [CAF Press Release] [PLAC+e website]
